Picking in acsbo mainly serves as the connection between Sales Orders/Work Orders and the inventory system. It is also flexible enough to manage consuming inventory for an arbitrary source including vendor custody and projects. Picking CANNOT be used with non-inventory tracked items in any capacity.
Click the ADD NEW button in the top right of the Picking page to create a pick. Enter the date the items were picked and any notes about the pick such as special circumstances or instructions. The date will default to today.
Then click the ADD button under the Pick Actions headers to start adding the actual actions to the pick. For each action: select which order it applies to, which part number is being picked, where the item is located, and how many items. If the selected part uses S/N, Rev #, or Lot # tracking, you must also enter the tracking information for each item. For S/N parts, enter one serial number for each item in the action, separated by commas or the enter key so acsbo can format the numbers. For Rev # and Lot #, enter only one tracking number for the entire action. Instead of entering the values manually, you may select entries from the stock view. The stock view will automatically open when a part, line item, or input is selected.
You may pick for multiple different orders and parts in a single pick with multiple different actions. When all items are entered, click SAVE to open a confirmation dialog. Check that all orders, parts, amount, and tracking match what they should be and click SEE FULL to see all serial numbers if more than 10 are entered in a single action. Click CONFIRM to save the pick and perform all of the actions or CANCEL if something needs to be fixed.
If the pick fails to perform any of the listed actions, the entire pick will fail and all actions will be rolled back. A pick most often fails if the amount of serial numbers does not match the listed amount or a provided tracking number does not match any items currently in stock.
