Receiving in acsbo mainly serves as the connection between Purchase Orders and the inventory system. It is also flexible enough to manage receiving from an arbitrary source including customer supplied and RMA materials. Receiving also manages non-inventory tracked items for record keeping.
Click the ADD NEW button in the top right of the Receiving page to create a receive. Enter the date the items were received, who has inspected the items, and any notes about the receive such as special circumstances or instructions. The date will default to today and the inspector will default to the logged in user.
Then click the ADD button under the Receive Actions header to start adding the actual actions to the receive. For each action: select which order it applies to, which part number is being received, where the items will be located, and how many items. If the selected part uses S/N, Rev #, or Lot # tracking, you must also enter the tracking information for each item. For S/N parts, enter one serial number for each item in the action, separated by commas or the enter key so acsbo can format the numbers. For Rev # and Lot #, enter only one tracking number for the entire action.
You may receive multiple different orders and parts in a single receive with multiple different actions. When all items are entered, click SAVE to open a confirmation dialog. Check that all orders, parts, amounts, and tracking match what they should be and click SEE FULL to see all serial numbers if more than 10 are entered in a single action. Click CONFIRM to save the receive and perform all of the actions or CANCEL if something needs to be fixed.
If the receive fails to perform any of the listed actions, the entire receive will fail and all actions will be rolled back. A receive most often fails if the amount of serial numbers does not match the listed amount or a duplicate serial number would be created.
